Beavers, for 6-8 year olds

Being a Beaver is all about growing and learning in small but mighty ways. Here is where and when our beavers meet, as well as some of the things you’ll get up to with your new friends.

Wednesdays at 6:15pm to 7:15pm at Macclesfield Methodist Church and Broken Cross Methodist Church.

Beavers are young people, who:

• Learn new skills and try new things
• Have fun playing games, doing crafts and going on adventures
• Make lots of new friends

Every week, our Beavers gather in groups called Beaver Colonies.  Our two Beaver colonies, take part in almost identical programmes of activities as our Volunteers work closely together. This means that all Beavers get the same experiences regardless of their home base.

The two colonies run on the same day and same time. This means that many activities are run jointly throughout the year and all our Beavers are friends with each other.

Taking part in activities is rewarded with Badges… lots of them! Our activities are programmed to give all Beavers the best chance to achieve their Chief Scout’s Bronze Award, the highest Beaver badge. But most important of all is to have fun.

Beaver activities at 24th Macclesfield Methodist

As a Beaver in our group, you’ll spend lots of time  with friends having fun both indoors and outdoors. Together, you might make pottery or other art, learn about nature, go on a train ride or a hike, build a den or go on an indoor sleepover.  Beavers also go bouldering, bell boating and skiing.

You’re guaranteed to have plenty of adventures in Macclesfield and the surrounding area. Being a Beaver is all about making the most of the opportunities and trying out new things in a safe and supportive environment.

Through active participation Beavers gain a sense of achievement, learn listening skills and team participation skills as well as confidence and integrity – doing the right things for the good of others and their self.
